The ‘fame’ game – do you need a celebrity?
Today we’re focusing on point #6 and that’s thinking about whether to go for a named celebrity to help bolster your event.
You know these days the variety of the many established corporate acts is fantastic. They’re often made up of some of the most talented singers and dancers in the country… which is why event planners don’t need to rely on celebrities so much anymore. To be frank, most celebrities like ‘X factor finalists’ just don’t last on the corporate scene because they don’t know how to take an audience on a journey. The value they hold in just… being known to a particular TV audience and…singing a few songs… does not often translate in the events arena where audience members have high expectations and expect to be connected with.
They’re also of course, often really expensive and I’m always hearing stories from event planners of how they… just weren’t worth it.
You see the top corporate entertainers know how to get the audiences attention, they understand the dynamic of an event, they just know how to transform it.
Now, don’t get me wrong, if you’re selling tickets to a fundraiser or something then you may need one or two big names to help you fill a room… but if you don’t need a ‘famous’ personality then save yourselves some cash and go for an established, well respected act that are guaranteed to win your audience over. Again, read the testimonials and watch the promo videos. You’ll very quickly get an idea of the value these acts offer.
Your preferred entertainment agent or speakers bureau should be able to help you as well …or of course get in touch with us.
Well, I hope that helps. Look out for the other ‘top 7 idea’ videos in this series. Thanks for listening and please feel free to leave comments. We’d love to hear from you.
